Australia's First Ever NFL Game

Friday 11 September, the MCG hosts Los Angeles Rams v San Francisco 49ers, the NFL's first ever regular season game on Australian soil, and the longest distance any NFL team has ever travelled to play one. Kickoff is 10:35am, which means by early afternoon Melbourne will have just watched history happen, live, in its own backyard.

NFL Week at The Men's Gallery

The game's one day. Melbourne's about to be full of NFL fans for a lot longer than that. From September 4 to September 14, The Men's Gallery is running NFL Week, a full week of nights for anyone in town for the game, whether you land three days early or you're still here the following week.

After the Game

Kickoff wraps early afternoon, which leaves most of the day still ahead of you. The NFL's own Kickoff Festival runs at Melbourne Park from Thursday through Saturday, with live music, food stalls and fan zones if you want to keep the day going. Once the sun's down and you're after something with a different kind of energy, NFL Week continues at The Men's Gallery, a short trip from the MCG into the CBD, a few minutes by train into Flinders Street and an easy walk or tram from there.

What to Do in Melbourne During NFL Week

Melbourne doesn't do things by halves, and NFL Week lands in the middle of a city that's already used to hosting the world, the MCG itself has been standing since 1853, older than Australian Rules Football and older than the NFL. Between the game, the festival, and everything else the CBD has running, there's no shortage of ways to fill a week here.
